Poet Bio
Karen Andrews is an educator, researcher, and writer with nearly 20 years of experience teaching multilingual learners in public schools, including newcomer students with interrupted formal education. Her research focuses on language education policy, multilingual assessment frameworks, and critical literacy practices. She has written about and contributed conference presentations on translanguaging and plurilingual approaches in language policy, and media reporting on sexual violence. In Fall 2025, she will begin a PhD in Applied Linguistics in Education at Concordia University in Montreal.
